Mercedes at the Detroit Auto Show

Four days into the Detroit Auto Show and it's Mercedes turn to be featured on our blog. As we mentioned yesterday, we will feature some of BMW's competitors along with their latest concepts or any interesting vehicles that were displayed in Detroit.

It was Audi's turn yesterday with their beautiful R8 and Sportback Concept, then shortly after, we featured the Mercedes-Benz BlueZero Concept, their latest electric vehicle, a direct competitor to the Mini E.

So, what did Mercedes-Benz have in display beside the BlueZero Concept? Well, the beautiful high-end Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series powered by a twin-turbo 6.0-liter V12 engine producing 661 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. And of course, it comes with a hefty price tag: $300,000.

Then, we have seen the odd-looking Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR Stirling Moss powered by a 5.4L V8 Supercharged engine that makes a total of 650-hp. 0-62 mph comes in 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 217 mph.

And of course the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, 626 hp coming from the AMG V8 compressor engine, which is coupled to an AMG Speedshift R five-speed automatic transmission, accelerates the SLR from 0-62 mph in 3.8 seconds.

Pretty good car show for Mercedes, especially since they brought in most of their high-end vehicles. Not a big fan of MB, but I have to hand it to them for designing those supersport cars.
