BlueZero concept highlights Mercedes-Benz position

Mercedes-Benz HighPerformanceEngines Limited The launch of the BlueZero concept at the Detroit Motor Show by Mercedes-Benz highlights the company's position at the head of the electric car market, it has been stated.

Dr Dieter Zetsche, chairman of the board of management of Daimler AG and head of Mercedes-Benz Cars, believes his company is at the forefront of creating technologies to support the development of electric cars and this is proved by the new concept.

He said: "The flexible BlueZero concept allows electromobility for every requirement and highlights the fact that Mercedes-Benz is the world's only car manufacturer to already have in place all the key technologies for electric cars offering full everyday practicality."

Mercedes-Benz showcased three examples of the BlueZero technology at the motor show, which were the BlueZero E-Cell, BlueZero E-Cell Plus and the B-Class F-Cell.

As well as their economic and environmental advantages, the electric cars also benefit customers in other ways.

Interior space is retained in full as the generators are integrated into the sandwich floor, high crash safety results have been achieved and an in-built powertrain technology ensures a low centre of gravity and more agile handling.
